Boycezone - 2001 Events

Nov. 25th 2001 :  Wales 13 - Australia 21
It was a case of Singing in the Rain, but great fun, and £262 for Children in Need.

Nov. 17th 2001 :  Wales 51 - Tonga 7
But only £108 for the Breast Cancer Campaign. Perhaps it was the smaller crowd, or the fact they didn't close Westgate Street, or was it the rock band drowning out Queen Street spot so we ended up in the back of beyond? Or was it because James (Baby Max) was up in London having a romantic weekend leaving three old f***s to carry on with the show?

Saturday, Nov. 10th 2001 :   Don't cry for me Argentina!
30 - 16
but £231 for the British Legion from an hour on Queen Street and Westgate Street before the match (that was a match?).

Saturday, October 13th - We were on the radio before the Wales / Ireland match. Radio Wales were doing an outside broadcast with Owen Money outside the Owain Glyndwr in Cardiff. Later we played on Westgate Street and collected £238 for the John Grooms Charity for the Disabled. Thanks to everybody.

May 12th - Boycezone went undercover for the Liverpool / Arsenal FA Cup Final, and became -
"The Manic Street Teachers" (click for a picture).

May 28th - Played for Keith Davies (MBE)'s 60th birthday party at Myskin Cricket Club after his celebration match (Over 60s v Under 60s). The Over 60s won. A great night. Happy birthday Keith.

March 16th - Comic Relief Dayred nose
We put away the scarves and rosettes to put on red noses to become - "Pond-Life". Had a sing-song in the school hall (collecting £69.84) and later sang our version of "Uptown Girl" on Radio Wales.

FlagFebruary 17th - Wales / Scotland
"We went up to the highlands of Scotland."
Actually it was the bottom end of Queen Street (Cardiff). Raised £174 for Ty Hafan Children's Hospice and saved god knows how much by not going up to see Wales throw away the match.

flagFebruary 3rd - Wales / England.
Oh dear, 44 - 15, what is there to say? Well at least the grass looked nice.
We collected £274 in an hour from a great crowd on Westgate Street before the match, for Meningitis Research, and did a live gig in the evening at the Vale Country Hotel and Golf Club (with a free bar !).
